Carl completed his bachelor’s and master’s degree in biology at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. During his master’s, Carl completed his thesis researching the genetics of pluripotent cells that allow glioblastoma remission to occur. To continue research in neuroscience, Carl transitioned into the molecular and cellular life sciences doctoral program at the University of Wyoming, where he completed his PhD, conducting research about the underlying mechanisms driving addictive behavior. Currently, Carl is continuing his research as a post-doc in the lab of Dr. Francesca Telese to further reveal molecular changes linked with addiction. When not in the lab, Carl enjoys exploring the wilderness with his partner and their five furry friends while jamming to good music.
